Records confirm that our esteemed Financial Director has devoted more than 30 years of her life to Warren Board. All the more remarkable, then, that the briefest glance at her birth certificate (and the briefest glance is all that this dubious document deserves) suggests she took up the financial reins at the tender age of 14.
Much has been made of Anne’s torrid love life and very public affairs with men like Sean Connery, George Clooney and Omar Sharif (to name but none). Exposés in the News of the World, OK and Hello have revealed a thrusting yet vulnerable paperboard entrepreneur – but how could it have been any different for this siren of the boxboard jungle who has always ordered her men the way she orders her cartonboard: bulk packed.
But what do we know about the real Anne Ferguson? Look beyond the glamorous headlines and you’ll find that the feisty double-divorcee originates from Belfast’s Andersonstown, where she began her working life at a Belfast box maker. A growing appetite for paperboard in all its glorious cuts and creases, led Anne to London and to R.L. Lundgren, the long established paper and board agent. It was here that she first met one Barry Pincott and she worked under him energetically until their collective talents were recognized and they were both shown the door marked Kopparfors.
Having been lured by the bright lights of Nottingham it was a couple of years later that Barry approached Anne, suggesting that she had something he needed. Once that misunderstanding had been resolved, they forged a partnership that has stood the test of time based on mutual trust and an understanding that Anne is always right.
