What can be said about our esteemed Chairman and benefactor that hasn’t already been taken down and used as evidence? Entrepreneur, Connoisseur, Raconteur and Bon Viveur are none of the words that spring to mind when describing this cartonboard colossus.

He founded the company in 1976 on a wing and a prayer, formulating his business plan on the back of a fag packet. More than 30 years later and Company board meetings are the perfect example that he still holds true to this philosophy today. When Warren Board Sales began somebody once said that Barry had caught the last bus home. If that’s true then we’re pretty certain he never paid the full fare!

Barry lives near Maidenhead with his long suffering wife of 37 years. They have two sons aged 27 and 29. Dan, the eldest, is married and has built a successful career in sales and marketing recruitment. Steve, the youngest, has chosen wisely to follow his old man into the paper trade and is currently working for Mr. Ebb in Farnborough.

Today, Barry uses his role as Chairman to take more stress-free time out, planning the company’s future. He finds he can do this best by relaxing abroad frequently and playing golf 3 times a week. He’s convinced that this therapy is essential to achieve best results.
