Our trusty Commercial Director is a passionate and patriotic Irishman who brings a steely resolve and self discipline to everything he does. This is thanks in no small part to his Belfast upbringing and the tender mercies of the Christian Brothers, whose strictures remain evident not only in the way he thinks but also the way he walks.
As his school days drew to a close he took the Brothers’ advice to go forth and exchanged the tranquillity of 1980s Belfast for the seductive charms of the Nottingham Unemployment Benefit Office. Daily encounters with local job seekers (his clients), as well as alcohol-fuelled ne’er do well East Midlands down-and-outs (or as he called them, his colleagues) proved not only a home-from-home for Kieran but the perfect preparation for life at Warren Board.
Having flirted briefly with the idea of a career in the Police service he was forced to agree with the judge that his talent and potential pointed to a future inside rather than outside the cells. From here, it was a seamless transition to the world of cartonboard packaging.
Twenty five years later, Kieran’s career path has taken him from warehouse operative and forklift driver, through sales and marketing to his present role as Commercial Director. Kieran’s quality and consistency in each of these roles has been the envy of his colleagues. In fact, it’s often said that his methods are unchanged from those happy days when he swept the warehouse floor: shovel everything into a dark corner and hope no-one notices.
Kieran now lives in a Nottinghamshire village with his partner Lynne and their 10 year old son Patrick. Kieran is a lifelong Chelsea fan and keen golfer, whose prowess at the 19th shows real bottle (usually Bud). Patrick has inherited his father’s passion for sport and has delighted his father by his support for Manchester United and his increasing interest in cricket.
