Mark Medley - Commercial Manager

After a two year Marine Engineering course in Cardiff, Mark’s first taste of working life began in 1980 on a Youth Opportunities Programme (YOP) at a South Humberside based printing company. He progressed through the company, holding various positions along the way, including management of the bindery department and it was only five years from his arrival that he was promoted to works manager.

After gaining experience in this role, Mark made the move to Robert Horne Paper, initially concentrating on inside sales but later taking an external sales role.  In a career spanning 34 years Mark has held a number of senior managerial positions in large paper companies including Bunzl Fine Paper and Dixon & Roe (later rebranded as Mason’s Paper).  In his current role with Warren Mark is responsible for inside paper sales, stock management and liaising with the external paper sales team.

Mark was born in Leeds but moved with his family to York when he was a toddler and still regards York as home. He now lives with his wife on the outskirts of Ilkeston in Derbyshire and they have two grown up children. In his spare time he enjoys motorcycles – both riding his own and watching the sport. His family were involved in racing in the 70s and he says this is where his passion for road racing began. Having been presented with a ‘decent’ camera for his 50th birthday he also likes to spend time taking photographs and learning about photography. Mark can often be seen hiking around the beautiful Peak District which is right on his doorstep.
